Kofi Kingston's six-month WWE Championship reign came to a solid end during a SmackDown on Fox on Friday night as he was defeated by Brock Lesnar in just seconds.
Kingston accused Lesnar, who picked up Kingston, covered for pinfall and championship wins.
Fans of attendance at the Staples Center in Los Angeles were shocked at the quick result. However, Lesnar's championship ceremony as Ray Mysterio was cut and former UFC star Cain Velasquez marched to face Lesnar.
Velasquez took Lesnar down and took a few shots before Lesnar was caught, and the final two minutes of the show saw a tense confrontation between them, with Lesnar on the ramp and Velasquez in the ring.
Fans and children did not need to take effect immediately after a long reign for a quarrel, following the decision to take Kingston's title.
Kingston first captured the WWE title at WrestleMania 35, winning a competition with both Daniel Bryan and Vince McMahon for the first time in an 11-month career, reducing a month-long feud. Kingston later approached Lesnar before successfully defending against Dolph Ziggler, Samoa Joe and Randy Orton. On the September 17 episode of SmackDown, Kingston and the rest of New Day beat Orton and The Revival badly in a six-man tag match to end their feud with the trio.
Lesnar and Paul Heyman then made their way into the ring and immediately challenged Kingston for a title match during the Fox premiere of SmackDown. Kingston agreed, then was killed suddenly by an F-5.
