Police investigating Brooke Morris' disappearance have found the body of a woman in the Taff River.The 22-year-old was last seen in the early hours of Saturday when his friends drop her at home, at the end of a night in Merthyr Tydfil city center.
Detectives previously said they believed the rugby player did not enter her home in Bontnewydd Terrace, in the village of Trelewis, south Wales.Officers searched rivers and waterways near Ms Morris’ home on Wednesday.
A South Wales police spokesman said, "Police officers searching the rivers and waterways near Trelewis ... sadly found the body of a woman in the river Taff earlier this afternoon."
"Formal identification has not yet taken place, but Brooke's family has been informed and their support continues."
The 22-year-old is believed to have walked towards a bridge near her house, after it was unloaded.Nelson RFC volunteers and clubmates of the rugby player helped police search in woodland and rivers in the area near their home, while the Central Brock Mountain Rescue team was involved in the search on Sunday.
