The world of "Game of Thrones" will live on HBO.
The prequel series book "Fire and Blood", based on "Game of Thrones", has been ordered straight-to-series in a premium cabler. The series will be titled "House of the Dragon", set 300 years before the events of "Game of Thrones", the series tells the story of House Targaryen. Frequent "Game of Thrones" director Miguel Sapochnic will direct the pilot and additional episodes.
HBO has ordered a 10-episode show. George RR Martin made the series with Ryan Kondal. Saponic and Kondal will serve as co-listeners and will also serve as executive producers with Martin and Vince Gerardis. This is Sapochnik's first project as part of an HBO composite deal where he will develop and produce content for both HBO and HBO Max. He has directed six episodes of "Game of Thrones", including "Hardhome", "Battle of the Bastards," and "Winds of Winter".
