Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday released the Rs 150 indicator on the occasion of 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. PM Modi launched the commemorative coin in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, when he arrived at the Sabarmati Riverfront for the 'Swachh Bharat Divas' program in the state.
Apart from PM Modi, Chief Minister Vijay Rupani was also present at the event. PM Modi left a message on the visitor's book at the Sabarmati Ashram, stating, "I am satisfied that on the occasion of #GandhiAt150, we are witnessing to fulfill their dream of 'Swachh Bharat'. I am lucky to get on this like when India has successfully stopped open defecation."
Earlier in the month of January, PM Modi issued a commemorative coin of Rs 350 to mark the birth anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh, the ten preachers of Sikhism. Last year, PM Modi released a commemorative coin of 100 rupees in memory of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
