The Air Chief Marshal further said that in the fighting after the airstrikes by Pakistan on 27 February, the Indian Air Force lost a MiG-21 and Pakistan lost an F-16. On February 27 in Srinagar, the Mi-17 chopper crashed, to which the Air Force chief said that the Court of Inquiry has been completed and it was our fault in the accident as our missile targeted our own helicopter.

"He said that in this case we will take action against two officials. We accept that this was our big mistake and we will ensure that such mistakes are not repeated in future".

On the question of how drones are being used by Pakistan to release weapons across the Indian border, the Air Force chief said that small drones are a new threat and some procurement is already in process to deal with the issue. This area is a violation issue and necessary action has been initiated on this aspect.


When the Air Force chief was asked if there was a possibility that an air strike like Balakot could be repeated, the Air Force chief said that if there is a terrorist attack (from Pakistan), then according to the government's decision it will be answered.
